Trump celebrates as ABC 'cancels' Jimmy Kimmel

Jimmy Kimmel has been pulled off air on by Disney-owned ABC following comments he made regarding the shooting of Charlie Kirk.

A statement from ABC announced “Jimmy Kimmel Live will be pre-empted indefinitely”.

So what did Jimmy say exactly? Well earlier this week, Kimmel said during his show that the “Maga gang” was trying to score political points off Kirk’s killing. He also mocked President Trump for dodging a media question about his grief, when he instead changed the subject to talk about decorating The White House.   On the news of his suspension, a gleeful Trump wrote “great news for America”. He mocked ratings in his social media post as well, writing:

“The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done.”

Kimmel said in his Monday night monologue: “The Maga Gang desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

Following the fallout, the host had agreed to make an on-air apology, but was later told this punishment wouldn’t suffice.

Many loyal fans of Kimmel’s are protesting that media censorship in the US is out of control and he should not have been taken off air.
