EastEnders VE Day 80 episode announced
EastEnders will broadcast a special episode commemorating the 80th anniversary of V.E. Day, as the residents of Walford gather to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives during the war.
The episode will include touching references to wartime Britain, featuring archival footage and music from the World War II era, along with scenes reflecting the celebrations that swept across London on 8th May 1945.
As Nigel’s dementia progresses, he becomes convinced it is 1995, prompting plans for a party to celebrate the 50th anniversary of V.E. Day at The Vic.
Determined to honour the occasion, Phil and Jean encourage Linda to align the reopening of The Vic with the 80th anniversary, bringing the Walford community together to remember and reflect on the sacrifices of the past.
Speaking on the special episode, Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw said: “Like many others across the UK who will be marking this poignant moment in history, we wanted to honour and remember those courageous individuals who gave their lives during the war with a special EastEnders episode marking 80 years since V.E. Day.”
