Celebrity Hunted Returns to Channel 4 for Stand Up To Cancer
The Grierson Award-winning and BAFTA-nominated factual thriller Celebrity Hunted is back, and it’s returning to Channel 4 on January 5 at 9 pm in support of Stand Up To Cancer.
Produced by Shine TV (part of Banijay UK), this thrilling series follows a group of celebrities as they attempt to evade capture by an elite team of Hunters over 14 intense days.
This year’s celebrity fugitives include:
Professional dancers Giovanni Pernice and Kai Widdrington
Loose Women’s Denise Welch and her husband Lincoln Townley
Pop star Duncan James and model Christine McGuinness
Podcasters David Whitely and Zeze Millz
Soap stars Danielle Harold and Kimberly Hart-Simpson
News anchors Simon McCoy and Lucrezia Millarini
Tasked with staying under the radar across mainland UK, the celebrities must outsmart a specially selected team of Hunters. This formidable group of former police and military personnel uses cutting-edge technology—including CCTV, ANPR cameras, drones, helicopters, and cyber forensics—to track their targets. Can the stars evade capture while under relentless pursuit?
Thrills and Escapes Await
Matt Bennett, Director of Programmes for Shine TV, described the show as a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, saying:
“There’s nothing more delicious than watching our much-loved celebrities turn fugitive and go on the run as they attempt to escape the Hunters, all in aid of the excellent charity Stand Up To Cancer. This year we have a stellar line-up who have truly kept the Hunters on their toes. With dramatic escapes to daring captures, this season of Celebrity Hunted will keep viewers on the edge of their sofas from start to finish. Jason Bourne would be proud!”
Executive Producer Tom Hutchings added:
“This is hands down the most exhilarating series of Celebrity Hunted yet. From helicopter chases through the Norfolk countryside to daring escapes and laugh-out-loud camping mishaps, this season has it all. Expect visits to Albert Square, Blue concerts, and plenty of blagged luxuries alongside bruised egos. No celebrities were harmed in the making of this programme—just a few dignity dents!”
Get ready for the most action-packed season yet, filled with dramatic close calls and heart-pounding chases, all for a great cause.
